Just one session with Darrel today has made a difference! I am so grateful!
I opened the crate door and LuLu sat there! I walked her and everytime I asked her to sit she would look at me. I even stepped behind her and she turned around to sit to look at me!! AMAZING!!! And this is without the training collar on her!! Thank you Darrel! Looking forward to dong more work with you! Very grateful!!

By the time we found Darrell we had been kicked out of two other dog training programs due to Sugar's aggressive nature. My husband and I adopted two rescue dogs in 2008 in Chicago. At the time we were in college and were way over our heads with our two mutts. Sugar is a shepherd pitt mix of sorts and Seamus is a malinois mix. Sugar was abused and aggressive towards dogs and people, and Seamus was just plain old stubborn. At this time Darrell was associated with Sit Means Sit but was working independently and had agreed to take us as clients.
Many people have great issues with the electric dog collars, myself included prior to training with Darrell. However this training seemed to give me a new way to communicate with my dogs and helped them both become more confident. My once super aggressive Sugar dog is now able to have company over without eating them, go out for walks and to restaurants, and even go to dog parks! Her quality of life was greatly improved by this experience. Most importantly, my dogs and others around them are safe. I have the control to call either dog to me from across a football field and divert them quickly away from dangers like traffic.
The actual training with Darrell was great. He offered individual sessions, helped us understand the proper way to utilize the collar so it was not a punishment for our dogs, and offered group classes. We rarely utilize the collars now and only use them for things like dog parks. Our dogs have leaned that and actually go crazy with joy when they hear the beep the collar makes when it turns on because they know we are going out someplace fun. Darrell was patient with us and with our dogs. I'm happy to say that 7 years later our little family is still living happily and safely with with his training techniques.

My first dog training session was tonight with my 4 month old German Sheppard. Darrel really did a job getting us started.
Looking forward to him coming back. My pup really responded well to his training and has given us some valuable blocks to build upon. In one training session we could see our pup not trying to run out the door and staying in her place. We could see a Big difference. If you are thinking about training your pup don't hesitate you will be in good hands.

I have been working with Darell for 6 months and he has been great.
My wife made me get a dog trainer because my 7 year old dog would be aggressive towards her. I always thought that you can't teach old dogs new tricks , but But with Darell's help we did!

Darrel is hands down one of the best dog trainers in the country.
No matter what your level as a handler, he will make you better. He's great at observing handlers with their dogs and making helpful tips to take you to the next level as a pet owner or for more advanced levels of obedience. You just have to watch videos on his YouTube channel, or see him in person with a dog and he will stand out. He helped me with one of my working dogs and the level of attention I have with my shepherd mix has never been better.

Absolutely amazing trainer.
He's the dog whisperer of Clermont. My dog learned the basics on same training day. My dog (Fred) will be continuing training with Darrel.
